They offer the required online classes which Mr. Knepler teaches himself. And if you do your hands on driving classes with them, your teen can take their permanent driver’s test in this location using their car instead of DMV. Our 2nd teen is learning to drive through Knepler. Their staff are pleasant to deal with. Their instructors are patient and awesome. Their team is great with reminders, answering questions, guidance, and what to expect. I highly recommend this driving school! When it’s time for our daughter to learn how to drive, she will go here as well.

Good evening, Trumbull community Please read, I would like to share some alarming news with parents ... Parents of daughters, beware. If you have a young daughter, I recommend not allowing her to take any lessons here. My daughter, who attends Trumbull High School, is currently taking driving classes with Knepler Driving School. Her instructor's name is Howard Knepler. He appeared overly excited to meet my daughter. I wasn't comfortable the first day, but assumed I was being overprotective. After her second lesson, my daughter told me Howard spoke to her about massaging his niece and how she removed her top, causing him to feel uncomfortable. He then commented on her size, mentioning how he doesn't like skinny girls, and made comments about girls sitting on his lap and preferring girls "with meat." I was extremely shocked and immediately thrown for a loop. We called the driving school and asked that this be addressed. They said he would no longer be her instructor, and he would be replaced with a female instructor, in addition they also gave us a free class. My daughter was in class today talking about what happened to her, and her classmate mentioned having a very similar experience with the same instructor. My daughter's classmate said their conversation was also inappropriate. In addition, my daughter's classmate also shared that her friend had classes with Howard, and he placed his hand on the young woman's thigh. As a concerned parent, this news is extremely horrifying. This man is a predator, and who knows how long this has been going on? As a concerned mother of three, I feel as though I would be doing my community a disservice by not informing you all. We need to protect our children.

I wish I could leave more than 5 stars! KDS instructor was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I am now confident that my daughter will be an excellent driver.. Thank you to Howard Knepler and the staff at KDS.

I lost my right leg last year and i have not been able to drive since my amputation. I wanted to drive but did not find a good, caring, and affordable driving school around Greenwich CT. Then I found Knepler Driving Schools in Monroe CT, it is about an hour from where I live, I decided to stay for a week in a hotel close to the school so I didn’t have to go back and forth everyday. I wanted to concentrate and focus on this new journey of my life. I made an appointment for my driving evaluation, that is when I met with Howard Knepler, he is the owner of Knepler Driving Schools, they have been in business for more than 67 years. He tested my vision and cognitive skills. It was determined that i needed to drive with my left foot. I was very impressed about his knowledge and his kindness, he treats his clients with respect, he is very assertive and lets you know in a non condescending way when you are not doing a correct action. His secretary Sandy is very sweet and a kind person, she is very welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend Knepler Driving Schools and Howard, you will be in the best care possible. To enhance safety and confidence, the driving school utilizes dual-controlled cars during lessons. I completed the classes and I can now drive with my left foot, my car will be adapted with a left foot gas pedal accelerator. Do not look any further for a Driving School, they are the best!

Convenient location and driving appointment times. Very knowledgeable and friendly instructors. Both the online classes and driving lessons were useful and valuable. Highly recommend!
